N27

N27 is an Allen-Bradley Type N thermal overload heater element designed for use with thermal overload relays, magnetic motor starters, and motor control applications. This eutectic alloy type heater element provides Class 20 protection and is compatible with Bulletin 700 line starters and Bulletin 709 motor starter sizes 00, 0, 1, and 2. The N27 element is rated for full load motor amperage between 6.65 and 7.06 amps and delivers reliable motor protection by tripping when current reaches 600 percent of its rating within 30 seconds or less. Selection of the appropriate heater element ensures integral horsepower motors receive protection between 105 and 125 percent of nameplate full load currents, depending on ambient temperature conditions at the controller relative to the motor location.
